Doris Goudreau Darbasie is an Edmonton artist who derives most of her material from people, situations, and objects that are part of the urban setting in which she lives. This often involves looking for unusual, at times subtle, qualities in what might appear to be the ordinary. Darbasie's paintings have been accepted into open, juried competitions of the Alberta Society of Artists, the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour, and the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work is in private collections, with selected paintings having been used as illustration by the City of Edmonton, featured in various publications, and reproduced as book-cover art by the University of Alberta Press. She is a signature member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.
